Always good., January 2, 2011 by Anne-Lie Kjellander Visit Date:December 23, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "I usually don´t complain, but this hotel really needs complaining. The location on the beach of Karon is good and so are the pools. But this hotel really needs refurbishing, quit old and the bathrooms small and smelly. Cleaning service bad and the towels and bedsheets are not often changed. They even hang back one towel we had on the floor. When we asked several times for new towels they said finished . And the prices in the hotel restaurants and bars are ENORMOUS. Example, one coktail 245 Bath ++ , which means + 17 % tax. And the hotel has menues in russian rather than in english because of the many russian tourists in the hotel. The last day we got a form to fill in how we liked the hotel, everything in russian. They knew we were Swedish so atleast we could get one in english, but no. The last day they checked the minibar and we had to pay 145 Bath for a bottle of water we had not taken. Would not recommend this hotel. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" |
by Fang and Andy Visit Date:October 15, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We used to stay at this hotel in 2008 and it was really nice so we decided to go back there again this year with an expectation to have the same service we used to have. We booked a deluxe room which was nice. The room was spacious and also had a big balcony. The facilities in the room were good. The location was great. We could just cross the road and then we were at the beach. The beach was much better than Patong. Clean and clear water. But nightlife in Karon wasn t much interesting. The weather was also nice. We only had rain on the first day we arrived. Actually most of the things at the hotel were good including the location. The only thing that we were disappointed was the service, especially the maid service. They didn t care to change our bed sheets and pillow cases from the first day we checked in to the day we checked out. We stayed 5 nights, by the way. We ve been traveling a lot and staying in many hotels around Thailand and other countries but we ve never had this kind of experience before. We understand that the hotel might have policy to save water and protect the environment so they try not to change towels or bed sheets and pillow cases everyday. But 5 nights was a bit too long. We didn t have any problem about this last year. Maybe we were there during a low season. Bedsheets and pillow cases wouldn t be changed until the high season started again! So we would recommend this booking service to our friends but we aren t sure if we would tell them to stay at this hotel. For us, we are definitely NOT coming back there again. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" |
by vaughan Lock Visit Date:October 12, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "I have stayed at this hotel 5 times for lengthy periods in the past. This hotel is quite dated now and maintenance has clearly been thin on the ground for many years - we were usually prepared to tollerate this as the resort was always quiet and there was a choice of pools. This has changed this year and the resort has clearly decided to focus on Russian Package deals... I think that this has let the resort down as I do not wish to have russain meal nights etc and I did not like being practically the only non russian guest. They generally did not leave the resort, they were generally rude to other guests and particularly the staff, they did not say please or thank you, the smoked in eating areas, reserved all the deck chairs at 6am with a towel and never tipped - I tried to put this down to language barriers etc etc - but I cannot accept this - the first words that anyone learns in any foreign country are generally please and thank you. I have no reason to return to this resort. My advice would be to spend a little more money and go somewhere not offering package deals on the Bangkok-Moscow Thai route. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" |

by Fan Aihua Visit Date:August 15, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "I like this hotel very much. It has Big room, nice swimming pool, beautiful orchid garden, warm hostess. The location is great, which is closed to the Karon Beach. But I was annoyed by mosquitoes some nights. Generally, would stay again." |
by Kristy Aquilina Visit Date:July 24, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Very large resort which had good sized rooms with nice balconies which overlooked the beautiful gardens and pool area. Breakfast was Buffet and was excellent as it had a large selection of foods to choose from. Nice resort and good location and very fair price." |
This was the tird year in a row that we booked using Sawadee and will always use them, July 12, 2009 by Brian Atherton Visit Date:July 10, 2009 "Just spent another fabulous week in Phuket staying at Thavorn Palm Beach resort for the first time. Would definitely stay there again although it was a hassle most days getting towels replaced and the internet often wasn t working, also there was a total powe outage one night but it was fixed fairly promptly. So why would I stay there again? Because the swimming pools and swin up bar are amazing, the buffet breakfast is delicious and the staff are on the whole very helpful. Also the rooms are big and well equipped but pay the extra for a deluxe room. It s a big resort and you don t want to be too far away from the best pools and the standard rooms are just that...very basic. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" |

Good, May 5, 2009 by babeboat Visit Date:May 3, 2009 "Room is very old and smell bad. We had to ask for bath towels floor towel and pool towels. Breakfast are very expensive, 550 Baht for adult and 275 B for a child." |
No problem!!, April 30, 2009 by Anna Lundberg Visit Date:April 5, 2009 "Very nice hotel! The only thing I can complain on is that it is very expensive in the hotel area. The poolbar too. I would like to eat lunch sometimes at the hotel but that was not possible, 400 baht for a pizza..... The room was big and we where 4 persons with one extrabed and one child sharing our bed. No problem, our bed was huge!! Very nice staff and the breakfast was great! I would like to come back! [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" |
by Kerstin Gustafsson Visit Date:April 3, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "This hotel is wery old, we hade a upgrade room and the first room we get smelled wery much mould but the next day we get another room and it was much better. It is near the beach, you have only have to pass a road. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" |
Good, April 15, 2009 by Kylie Visit Date:March 25, 2009 "Room was very nice, only problem being on the ground floor and the constant noise from the room above, Walls are very thin. Staff very friendly. Food is expensive though a huge variety at breakfast. Hotel has five pools but good luck getting a sunbed as certain nationalities feel the need to place a towel on the beds as early as 7am (even when its raining) but not use to the afternoon. In 5 days we had a sunbed twice. If the hotel introduces rules like other hotels their daily bar/food takings might be higher. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" |
ok, no problem, February 27, 2009 by Piotr Wójcicki Visit Date:February 25, 2009 "Beautiful Hotel in green surrounding, proper for family with kids. They have 5 swimming pools and access to the public beach while you cross the street. Staff was very polite and helpful. Rooms nice with spacious terraces with two sunbeds inside. Meals were ok, however hotel is very expensive so great number of guests prefered to eat outside the hotel. Great pleace for rest after 2 week exhousting sightseeing" |
Ok as usual, January 14, 2009 by Vladimir Vengerov Visit Date:January 5, 2009 "Hotel is okay very close to the beach, green and nice deluxe rooms with a view, not noisy, but too much russians and very old - definitely, needs renovation. We didn t like huge Karon with lots of people and no scenery at all, but if you want to be in a quiet place just across the beach for that price is the best option there." |
